Entry for May 8, 2008 -- Moab Bound!
photo
Hurray!  It's Friday Eve, and we're preparing to head south for a quick adventure in the Canyonlands near Moab.  This weekend we'll run long through the high desert as a last training run before the Ogden Marathon on May 17th.

The Moab area is one of our favorites, and we relish the opportunity to get out and play in one of Mother Nature's most exquisite offerings.  On our agenda will be a 20-mile run in Canyonlands National Park, a freeform hike in the Gold Bar Arch area where there is no trail, and a couple of easy nights staying at our favorite bed and breakfast, The Sunflower Hill Inn.  Oh! The Strenuous life!

The weather in southern Utah this time of year is very fickle, and we expect a dose of wind, rain, and other fun surprises.  It all makes for a wonderful spectacle for photography, so we'll bring the camera and try to capture a little and bring it home.  Stay tuned for the post-trip post.  Until then...
