General Theme:

Susan and Bev will CREW for Doug using "Plan 2" on page 17 of the Official Race Book. From the "Plan 2" list, scratch Rucky Chucky if you want to. That will not be necessary (but you can walk there from Green Gate if you like--1.8 miles). I also don't need anything at No Hands Bridge. Please be there at Robie Point! Most important! I'd like to have everyone with me for the final 1.3 miles to the finish!

Overview of Plan:

Get to Squaw Valley on Friday.
Do pre-race brief at noon on Friday. (MANDATORY!)
Send Doug off at Start on Saturday, 0500.
Drive back to Auburn to drop off Bev's car.
Crew Doug at the following Aid Stations:
- Robinson Flat
- Michigan Bluff
- Foresthill
- Green Gate
- Highway 49
- Robie Point

We have a motel room in Auburn for Saturday & Sunday nights (Best Inn).

Crew at Robinson Flat:

Get in Doug's car and drive to Robinson Flat.
Go back toward the freeway.
Stay straight and the road becomes FORESTHILL RD.
Drive to Foresthill, and keep on going past Foresthill!
You'll go about 45 miles on Foresthill Road (from Auburn).
You may have to park at Sailor Flat and take a shuttle for the last 1.5 miles to Aid Station.
Bring Aid Station Bag and Chairs to crew Doug.
Get back in car and drive to next Crew Access: Michigan Bluff.

(You may want to go get something to eat in Foresthill first. There is not much in Michigan Bluff. It took me 5:00 to get from Robinson Flat to Michigan Bluff on the training day.)

To get directly to Michigan Bluff from Robinson Flat:

If you want to go back to civilization in Foresthill for food and rest:

Crew at Foresthill:

Susan begins pacing here. It is 18 miles to Green Gate.

Bev needs to wait for Dad, Barb, & Juliette if they have not already gotten to Foresthill yet. This is a good time to eat dinner. I would recommend you eat somewhere in Auburn.

Crew at Green Gate:

Bev should be in a caravan with Dad, Barb, & Juliette. All should drive back to Auburn and get dinner as desired. Drive to Green Gate area in time to meet Doug. Look for a blue glow-stick that Doug will be carrying.

Driving Direction to Green Gate from Auburn:

Susan finishes her pacing duties here. Juliette begins pacing Doug for the next 13 miles.

When you are done with Crew duties at Green Gate, walk back to car. Susan may want to get a shower after pacing and getting done at Green gate. There probably won't be enough time to sleep between Green Gate and Robie Point. It could take me as little as five hours between the points and as long as six hours.

Drive to Highway 49 Aid Station.

Crew at Highway 49:

You must park cars in Cool, CA. You can hang out at the Mainstreet Café and Grill. It will be open all night. Walk to the aid station for crew duties. Dad starts pacing Doug here for the last 7 miles. Juliette breathes sigh of relief!

Meet Doug at Robie Point:

Get there!  You walk from the High School.  :)

All Family and friends can walk with Doug to finish from Robie Point!
